Okra

Okra (kingombo, gumbo) is also known as "ladies' fingers" because of its shape. Originally from Africa is widely used in Caribbean or Indian cuisine.

This cute veggie is really good for thicken soup or stew because of edible seeds that release a sticky liquid during  the cooking.  Can be fried (with egg and breadcrumbs) and pickled.
